Schoolboys making comments is one thing, but grown ups making schoolboy-level comments is quite another. It is really exhausting at times filtering them out .. I understand why some photographers just disable comments.
good photo, good model, good bkgd. should experiment more with lighting, and lack thereof. placement is key.. you have a very good photo, but, lighting is just typical.... drop straight on lighting, and replace with low to dark settings, and lower your lighting placement to cast upward shadow, and then place downward light behind to shine down on model..... etc colored light or not... experiment.... not all of this is meant to you,..... i have a tendancy to type of what i think i would do..... keep up the good work.... and beautiful models....johnperi cudos
No doubt if you browse through the portfolio, you may see things more to your liking, I do experiment a lot in general. In this case however, it's just a "glamour" shot and admittedly I am not sure that any of the fancy stuff you suggest would render it more appealing.
Well then, must say I love her expression in this one. Looks most natural compared to her other shots. Love the contrast between her skin and hair. I think you could have made the contrast more stark if she was posed with a darker/blue bg though. Just an idea if you end up photographing her again

wow, she is beautiful...! I personally am American but I have both parents from different countries.. over all I know my view is quite different from most Americans to say the least.. I agree with everyone else, nudity should be practiced more often. Its natural for heavens sake! I shrug at others who think otherwise...
John, I believe you're one of the most talented photographers here in DA. I'm sorry there are so many who do not appreciate or respect the level of quality and professionalism you bring to the table. I think Ariel is one of the most beautiful women I've had the pleasure of laying eyes upon, and a lot of it is how you bring her natural beauty to life, it truly is art!! Thank you for not letting a few idiots deter you in your work, I certainly appreciate that you share your gifted talent with us... Dave.
John, I've been a fan of you photography. You always have great taste of model and very skillful at what you do. Thanks for this great shot. I enjoy all your work. Just want to let you know that when I have a chance now.
I think the same thing.. but I also remind myself, that this beautiful woman and myself both would not have jobs if it weren't for the sexual immaturity of most men. LOL.. of course, I'm not speaking of our nude modeling careers, where one would hope that people are observing because of the beauty of the female form. I think the problem with art as a whole is that lot of people tend not to look at the bigger picture--they quickly see a specific thing in a picture that they like, and that is it. They fail to notice the curves, lines, light, expressions, scenery, outfits, the gaze, and the emotion that the photo is trying to imply. For example, imagine there was a photograph of people giving out blankets and food to the homeless on a street corner, but way off in the background, there is a topless woman. The entire photo suddenly changes, it's no longer a photo about the kindness of strangers, but instead about a topless woman observing a bunch of strangers. *sigh* Most men are so easily distracted.
Justine, you do not distract me, you are an inspiration .. : -)
You make sexual immaturity sound like fun, and I agree with you. That is not the issue here though. It concerns people that are out to be offensive, to the models in particular. That is where true vulgarity is situated, not in images such as this.
As for you Justine, you are honest, straightforward and pure in heart. I would be honoured to have you as a friend.
Thank you, John. A girl in this business can always use good friends, because we don't have many genuine ones who understand that we are just normal people with normal lives when the camera is off.
As for your other statement, I agree with you wholeheartedly. This is why I have not been posting very much lately. Unless my legs are spread, the photos I submit get little attention, and that defeats the purpose I had for joining dA. Yes, I am in the adult industry, but dA for me is supposed to be about "branching out" and showing another side of myself. But I fear, as is the same for this beautiful woman, that our other life has become more of a stumbling block to this side of us.
The female form is more than an object of sex, but also an object of beauty and depth--and our photos are intended to be a way of people seeing past our sexual side. The female form is breathtaking in every way, and is made to be enjoyed as such. It's the true uncovering of the superficial.. outfits, jewlery, etc, conceal--while the nude female form is meant to be enjoyed as the ultimate uncovering of our outer beauty, with nothing to conceal what lies beneath. That's my two pence.
